how much would i buy second hand topper to go on the back of a ford 3000 tractor for or if not how much would contractor charge per acre

2nd hand toppers can be hard to come across in good condition. I try to buy new if I could. You would buy a new semi offset for about 1K. I expect that you would pay 5-600 for a good secondhand one if you can come across one. Usually not charge by the acre and it may be hard to find lads that do it. Depends on if it is rushy ground. I imagine a lad with a smallish tractor might do it for 25/hour. A lad with a disc mower might be better provided there is no risk taht his machine will get damaged

If it is not stony ground disc mower is best id you have to hire. Topper can be slow not sure if you will have enough power in a ford 3000 to cut through them if really thick. I be inclined to spray or lick first and cut then and keep toped a few time a year.

You also need to keep your soil indexes right to control rushes

ive taken over land that hasnt cn fertiliser or reseeding or anyting in 15 years and the land has kinda got outa control so lota topping and spraying needed
