    Hi all,
    I'm looking at getting a new phone this weekend. First time getting a new phone in years I'm quite excited like any good kid with a new toy!
    I'm looking at Samsung devices, wondering what are the differences between the Galaxy 5 and the note? Is the note a range of phones up or down from the Galaxy ones? I'm so out of the tech loop I'm just wondering if anyone can give me some tips on what's the best one to go with?!

    Thanks!

    I recommend looking at gadget reviews from around the internet, gathering a range of opinions on each device. Some sites have an obvious iPhone bias and nothing that android/samsung does is ever good enough. You won't (and shouldn't) get one answer about what is best. You'll have to make up your own mind.

    MKBHD (https://www.youtube.com/user/marquesbrownlee) does great honest reviews on devices, and actually uses them before giving his opinions on things, so sometimes his reviews come weeks or even months after the release of the device.

    I switched from Apple to Android a couple of years ago this month with the Galaxy S3. I then switched to the Note 2, then the Note 3, and two days ago to the Note 4. Once you get used to the physical size of the Note it's a fabulous device.

    Samsung will be announcing some new devices soon enough (March 1st). So I'd wait and see what they are announcing before buying.

    Ah that's annoying... not sure I fancy waiting! This was going to be a 'treat' for starting a new job! Conflicted now!!

    I have used almost all of them from iPhone 6->6plus -> s5 ->htc m8 -> lg g3 -> note 4 in last few months.
    If you haven't used smartphone in years then either of these would be great improvement, I would avoid S5 too many probs, slow and laggy.

    I use note 4 now and it is the best phone I have ever used if you can get used to size and s-pen is brilliant addition.

    If size is problem then HTC m8 is very good, very fast but camera is not great.

    That said if you can wait for 1st march then you might have better choice between HTC m9 and s6 but will prob will around end april you get your hand on it.

    Also have a look on one plus one thread, it is very attractive priced and specs is great.

    Good luck!

    Note seems to be a good one to look at then. I'm not too pushed by the size or using a stylus thingy. I'll check the prices and specs I reckon!
