Im considering (used loosely as its just a thought at the moment) buying a new car this year. This might sound like a silly question... but i'll ask it anyway!
Just wondering, would a dealer let you test drive the model for 3/5/7 days first?

Because i dont think i could do it having only brought the car out for a few mile spin.

It will depend on the dealer. I'd say you might get it for a weekend at most. I really could not see any of them giving it to you beyond that.

Thought a weekend would be about right.

Isn't Volvo promoting something like a 72 hrs. test period at the moment on it's radio advert?

Does that only apply to brand new cars though?

Didan't think anything more then 10-20min would be offered unless you had a history with the dealer otherwise what would stop people taking one instead of a rental.

You could walk into say an audi dealer and ask if you could take the nice new A7 for a weekend,Drive Dublin-Cork and back for say a wedding and then hand it back filthy and say thanks but im not interested.
Nice car for the wedding/drive and all it cost was some time and fuel

It's not that simple and they are not that stupid. They will have a fair idea before handing over the keys to an A7 whether the person is actually serious about buying such a car plus they probably would require some sort of large deposit on a credit card.
