Anyone else actually prefer when their colour fades?

Hi I get my hair coloured a fairly strong red, not as red as Rihanna, but quite a strong and very artifical look all the same. However as it fades it actually turns into a lovely auburn which I love and a lot assume is natural. Some have even complimented me on my 'Irish red-hair' , not realising it's acquired :) / But has anyone else had this experience?.

    S :)

Yes definitely, I'm sure I read before that if you have your hair dyed that it should always be a bit too dark when it's first done because if you leave the salon or do it at home and it's perfect after being dyed then when it fades after a couple of washes you won't like it!

I always prefer my hair after a couple of washes, when I had black hair I hated when it was freshly dyed as it was just too fake looking...after a couple of washes it was still black but didn't look fake.

I use a L'oreal colour now which is a 5.25 and initially it looks too burgundy and fake, after a couple of washes it fades to exactly the way I want it which is a shiny medium brown that looks red in the sunshine. If I go for a dye that looks like the colour I want to have then it never turns out right.

I use a red colour too and definitely prefer it after a few washes :)

yea im a blonde whos naturally a dark brunette so my blonde can sometimes come off a little too bright at first because of the length of time it needs to stay on so once i wash it its much nicer!!
