Thinking of going to San Sebastien for Easter weekend. Is it a good time to go or Will there be a lot of places shut down?

If the south of Spain, particularly Andalucia, is anything to go by, it'll be the opposite. Traditionally, in many parts of Spain, Easter is a major celebration, which also means shops, bars and restaurants are super-open.

During Holy Week, procession routes get shut down at particular times in the southern cities where they have the big celebrations, particularly Seville, Malaga, Cadiz.

It seems to be less of a thing up north. Which, I guess, means that Easter will mostly be normal with, perhaps, observance of Good Friday and Easter Monday. That's just two days for some places to be closed, but people gotta eat.

San Sebastian's big thing is 'Semana Grande', which takes place in summer. It's a really fantastic time of year to be there.
