Hey, just recently had the house wired up with a new dish and Saorview antenna and bought a combo box and have been messing away tuning in all sorts of channels

Ive been trying to tune in the German channel RTL as ive read it is free in standard definition on the 19.2e signal which my satellite and box is picking up the signal for but i have been doing every scan available and have picked up hundreds of channels but RTL still doesn't show up?

Ive taken a look at the frequency and codes for this channel on Lyngsat and im putting in the right settings, my dish is a standard 60 cm dish which i read should be able to pick it up

Anyone have any ideas to why i cant pick it up or if i need a different dish etc?

Yeah, im selecting 19.2 alright, ive got a sab titan 3 and in the satellite tuning section its got a whole list of satellites with the angle/degrees right beside them

Its picking up the same channels you'd see on 28.2e, bbc's, itv's etc

That means your scanning 28.2 east then...

Is it a fixed dish you have?

You need a dish on 19.2 east for astra 1 mate.

Motorised, multilnb or a 2nd dish are your options

If it's picking up the channels you list there, the dish is aligned to 28.2 not 19.2.

Ah ok, i just thought that because the box was showing a signal for 19.2 that i was actually receiving it

Is it expensive to modify the dish to be able to pick up 19.2?
What are the cheapest or easiest option to go for?

A second dish aligned on 19˚E and a diseqc switch.

I have a standard Sky dish aligned to Astra 2. I added a second lnb using a cheap bracket and I was able to align it to Astra 1 without moving the dish. Just a case of getting the angle right. The second lnb signal is probably bouncing off the edge of the dish but it works well enough for us and saved putting up a second dish.

Whats the story with adding a second lnb or even a multi lnb?

Will you be able to view all the channels from 19.2 and 28.2 at the same time or do you have to switch anything in the options/setup to view them?

I use separate boxes on each lnb. There may be a way of using one box with a switch but never bothered as I only watch Astra 1 ocasionally.

A DiSEqC switch sits between the LNBs and the receiver, when a channel is selected a signal is sent from the receiver to select the correct LNB (DiSEqC switching).

Research a device called a DISEQC switch. This goes between the box and the 2 or more LNBs on your dish(es). When you change channel, the box sends a control signal to the switch to select the correct LNB for the correct satellite.
