Can Anyone Advise How To Reset Time Controls On Vodafone Fibre Wifi Box..

I am looking to install time controls on the WiFi box so the router stops (as done previously with the old box). We have kids in the house and do not want them surfing all hours of the night and taking out the box at night time with teenagers is the least best option as it causes all sorts of arguments etc from them.

Vodafone customer service does not have support information on the installation of time controls and told me to seek out the information from the router manufacturer (in China) or else seek information through an internet forum.

It is easy enough to get into the router setting through the 192.168.1.1 using the advanced setting name - admin and password - admin1234

Then its a matter of going into filter setting and have got this far

Does anyone know how to get further than this to set it up, because you need an integer value in Priority (don't know what the value is) and rule name, source mac address and Bridge destination MAC presumably need completing too.

If it helps the router model is a HG658c. Any help is greatly appreciated. Sorry the pictures are so big do not know how to reduce...

I see the WiFi filter can be accessed under Basic with the above setting - but still needs source mac address

I am looking for a WiFi scheduler whereby the router just shuts down for everyone and devices do not need to be blacklisted or white listed. Is there a simple way to do this for the Fibre router. The old HG556a was real easy and worked a treat

The Fibre was set up this morning and figured myself how to get the Mac Address that is unique to the router. It's listed under the router detail as follows

Then just add the Mac Address into the filter as follows and it works a treat

Thanks Boards for the original configuration - there is nowhere else on the internet providing the information of 0 for the priority and reject for the status. Never in a million years would have figured it without this - but for anyone else with a Vodafone Fibre Router and wanting to put parental timer control then this is it.

Despite the changes made in post nine to the router it did not shut down at the appointed time of 23.00 to turn back on again at 23.59. Everything has been tried by me at this stage and it won't work - even blacklisting devices.

Had to unplug the router the last two nights and had the obligatory its not fair speech from the teenage kids, no other parents are as strict as you etc and this type of stress isn't needed at bedtime.

Will have to look at other options through Maplin etc. (unless someone can advise me of any means of activating time controls) but today have struck a electrical timer onto the router plug but it wont be long until this is figured out by them.

Its really infuriating that this sort of parental control has been removed or very difficult to set-up compared to the old Vodafone box.

I notice on the screenshot in Post #5 that the wifi filtering tab is selected, but there is another tab just called Wifi - what options are available there?

On the issue of Mac address filtering surely the op needs to enter the mac address of the devices accessing the router in the source box?

Originally the mac address being used was that of the router, and found out where to get the mac addresses of the various devices in the house thanks to Conar's help on the PM.

Was able then to create rules for switching the kids devices on and off at certain times of the night. Also the other thing that threw me was the time rule did not work. The box had been reset and when it is reset it automatically defaults to midnight, so had to go in and change the default Vodafone setting and change to synch time with the net

Absolutely delighted this now works is an understatement - have some control back instead of using a poxy electrical plug timer switch.

Thanks so much for this detail.

I too was looking for ways to place time limits on wifi access for the kids at the router level. The information provided is great and works well but only for devices connecting directly through the main vodafone router.

I have a wifi extender in the house which if you connect to renders the time limiting settings redundant.
Is there any way of ensuring that the extender is included in the main router filtering settings?

    Nearly there but not quite...
