    Hi,

I'm currently in 6th year of secondary school and I have Biomedical, Health and Life Sciences in UCD as my back up course if I do not get into undergraduate Medicine.

I put it down originally as I thought it looked to be the course that would best prepare me for Graduate Medicine and also assumed that the degree itself, possibly accompanied by a masters, would offer good job prospects if the post-grad med route didn't work out.

However, I have recently heard that while this course serves as good preparation for Graduate Entry Medicine, it is not very useful as a stand alone degree and that graduates often end up drug-repping.

Any insights regarding the course or its career prospects would be appreciated.
