    Some nice hitting here!

They have just given it away here Afghanistan when they worked hard to get in, Nabi the captain trying to slog Malinga was stupid.

Usual story with their batting though, talent is their, but they just give it away to much.

Afghans throwing their wickets away now, they'll be disappointed with all of these dismissals

Hmm, AFG are going to post a reasonable total here, in and around 240 or so, not incredible, but reasonable vs the SL attack.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 12,872 Mod ✭✭✭✭riffmongous

Pretty disappointing in the end, they just really lost their way in the last 15 overs

Very much so, I dunno they obviously decided that 300 was the minimum needed so you got a lot of kamikaze batting.

Its a total that shouldn't stretch Sri Lanka to much.

Awesome start, but I don't Lanka will be hugely concerned with Kumar at the crease and Mahela and Matthews to come.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,238 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

FFS, Even I'd have bloody ran out Kumar out their, would have been a huge moment if he had.

there was another one earlier too.

    SL are complacent here imo.

I'll be gone as soon as Sky cut from the AFG/SL game, I use SkyGo to watch, and no red button, so no way I'm staying up to get hooked into the next match

Matthews probably their second best bat and loves scenarios like this, serious pressure player but if they could get him or Mahela, Mendis and Perera can bat but can be streaky.

Dhawan n Rahane tearing the SAF attack

India set fair for a big score with wickets in hand should be looking for 350 here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,192 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    Great knock from dhawan

SA doing well to strangle the run rate here

Yep, Credit to Steyn n Co. Even against Pakistan India struggled in the last 10 overs from a good position.

308 the target. Not sure it will be enough with that SA batting line up. Gonna be a fun chase to watch anyway

Afghanistan gave SL something to think about. Well done to them, what a start for what otherwise is mostly known for Taliban, war, death and destruction! I really hope they get a win or two in this world cup.

I thought India would ace 340 when they were doing 250 or so with 8 more wickets but no one could come in and do enough big hits. SA did well didn't they? Fingers crossed Indian bowlers takes SA apart.

108/3, crucial wicket. Indians tightening the screw just when SA was starting to get comfortable. Love this game!

147-5 now. Definitely India's to lose.

Some crazy running by the AB and Miller ..... overconfidence I reckon ..... Probably thought they could run better than India could field

In many ways this was the acid test for India's chances of defending the World cup and their supporters (me included) will start to believe now......

India back with a bang after an awful 3 months in Australia and South Africa not as good as everyone was making them out to be .... Absolutely dire today and given their history in knockout matches will be glad to get their one bad perfomance out of the way now in the group stages

Great performance, outplayed them in every dept including fielding. Top class.

I'm pretty disappointed for Afghanistan, that game was theirs for the taking, I really hope they manage to get at least one win in this tournament

Btw did any one watch Ravi Shastri's interview after the game? He was very aggressive and said no one in Indian camp cared about "bloody" triangular series.

There's a bullish Saffer somewhere saying it's all about getting it right in the knock-out stage.:) I do miss Ravi's commentary though.

Disappointed again with how one-sided this game was. It's been only the two Afghanistan games that were anyway close really.
