What class of moron thinks Matthew Perry and some unknown can step into the shoes of Walther Matthau and Jack Lemmon. I'll assume Perry is drinking again if he thinks this is going places.

Well they are replacing Tony Randall and Jack Klugman really as its tv.

True enough but even that's s stretch for Perry's comedic skills. The least funny Friend doing this ? Bruce Willis got more laughs without trying in the nine yards rubbish. Ironically, he's quite good when playing straight drama - he did a decent enough cameo in The Good Wife.

Why do people get so irate about things? Its a bloody tv show. What does it matter if they do a new one every 5 years? If you liked the original then you still do.

its simply a sign of the creative vacuum that exists in the american studio model, id love to add up how many shows currently in production, are either a rehash of an old american idea, of adapted from others shows around the world,

funny that these people make millions just by covering old ground, even if the show tanks, you know about 10 people added at least a million dollars to their bank accounts,

I watched the pilot and thought it had potential. Nothing spectacular, just mindless fun along the lines of The Big Bang Theory, but I really like everyone in the cast and have enjoyed Perry's other TV sitcoms in recent years (even if they flopped in the ratings department)...

Don't see the point comparing it to the original, because it's not going to come anywhere close, but if you take it for what it is it could be decent. There's a lot worse things on the telly box!

Lieutenant Jim Dangle is not an unknown.

I normally commit to minimum three episodes before deciding on wether or not to get engaged with a new show. First episode got a few laughs out of me, Lennon's character seemed better to me. Perry appeared to have some sort of mouth problem, new teeth maybe, some of his lines seemed muffled.

I think there's probably potential in updating the show so that it can tackle modern themes - psychology=facebook for some example.

Might give this a six episode commitment as I love Perry & he needs a break - Studio 60 should never have been cancelled.

Fourth show from Perry to get cancelled since Friends, but the first to make it past the first season. He's making progress.
