Harvey Norman are a joke. Rip off prices even during a 'sale'. Their 'sales' should be investigated properly by an independent watch dog. The only decent thing they do is the photography section. ***Avoid*** at all costs.

I recall they had 2 or 3 "midnight sales" there before Christmas all of which were useless!

Sorry lad but a HN sale is of use to no one... at any time... ever.

Any time i have price checked any electronics i wanted to buy, HN have always been a few quid more expensive for the item i searched for compared to Currys/pc world/DID/powercity or even Argos on occasion.

Last item was a 40 inch samsung smart tv in Jan Sale:

    HN - (during their "sale") - 549
    Currys - 529
    Powercity - 529
    DID - 499

    Enough said.

I agree, the only thing they are good for is developing photos - good value there in fairness.

Ah now, looks like I've opened a can of worms!

Either that, or your all very tired & cranky.

In any case, a sales is a sale . . You never know, they could have some photo prints on offer! :)

They sold me a sale item over Christmas online, and never contacted me to say it was out of stock. Stayed quiet for weeks.

There is a word for someone who doesn't give you what you paid for and knowingly keeps quiet about it.... Terrible company.

Just took a look at the 'sale' items there. . . Back to Amazon I go.

Harvey Norman sales are as much use as a condom with a hole in it

Not to be pedantic, but all condoms have a hole in them.

While they are generally piss poor sales I have picked up the odd bargain. A 2ds before Xmas for €99. They had one table with good reductions on Ds's and ps3 as well as some NAS storage.

I have picked up a couple of bargains there also. Purchased a 19 inch TV after Christmas and it was €20 cheaper than anywhere else including the likes of Amazon.

Dualshock 4 is €44 which is a good price.

Thanks OP. Just got a Dyson Dc35 for €199, best value anywhere.

I went to harvey Norman for a flat screen tv one time. I had a budget of 500 for a 42" flat screen the sales man used his sales pitch on my wife and persuaded her that she needed a special stand some special cleaning spray for the screen and he'd throw on a DVD player as well. The cheapest 42" was €600 and your man had that up to €1200 with his ad on's. I said I was only spending €500 and walked out went to sound store and bought a 42" for €530 without any annoying salesman.
