Wow, that's super aggressive from Microsoft.

I hope Dropbox have been preparing for this day.

    Cheers OP

With the 100gb free last week and now this 100gb free I now have 226GB of free storage on my OneDrive and nothing to put on it :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,396 ✭✭✭Fingleberries

Sweet lament, I'm a sucker for an offer - after already claiming the 100GB from Bing Rewards and the 10TB from office 365 (I got it with the cheap Stream 7), I still claimed this.

Now, what to put on it?

Balls, my dropbox is 7GB+ oversized so I can't save the file, I really must clean it up.

Same here, I wonder does your login email have to be the same on dropbox as it is on OneDrive

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,355 ✭✭✭cruhoortwunk

100 GB of OneDrive is valid for 1 year from redemption. Offer limited to current Dropbox users in US and first 10 million recipients. Internet and mobile fees may apply. Limit: One offer redemption per person/account.

Worked for me just there now! The one not working for me is the other BA Offer (100gb free from OneDrive as is)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 282 ✭✭Bhangraman

OK so maybe it means that we can only accept either offer as I had already accepted the other.

Both working here as well :)

    4TB now :) I don't use Dropbox.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,808 ✭✭✭lintdrummer

It worked for me on the 5th or 6th attempt. The other offer isn't available to me because I'm outside the US apparently.

I got 1 year office 365 with 1TB One Drive free with a tablet. The terms say if you don't renew the subscription your space goes down to 15GB . If the same applies with this offer you could end up with a lot stuff to move or buy space.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,435 ✭✭✭Big Lar

Thanks OP, was losing 48Gb of dropbox space that I got via Samsung at the end of the month

Yeah worked here now too. MS servers were probably a bit overwhelmed earlier :)

    Have 240GB now, all free

Also have 2 * 1TB that came free with my free Office 365 that came free with my 2 * €40 Linx 7 Windows 8.1 tablets (now running Windows 10. Also free. I like free :D)

Trying this now for a migration from dropbox to onedrive. Looks like a very nice tool.

How do you guys upload to onedrive to make use of it?

I tested the below to map a drive to the space, but its a nasty hack (needs office installed)

    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2478800

Id rather be able archive stuff to onedrive rather than syncing (ie. i dont want to have local on every machine that will access it).

Worked for me now, they seemed to have fixed backend issues on their end: ODLyl.jpg

Yep working now! :) ..Im up to 250gb

    Nice one :)

230GB free space now! How come the rest of you have 250GB?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,204 ✭✭✭moonboy52

To keep the free space. Make a second account (use your main account too if you want), upload your 100gb/200gb and revoke the permissions given from:

    https://account.live.com/consent/Manage

And AFAIK you can keep the storage but obviously you cannot add or remove data.

I could be wrong of course :)

I'm at 226GB myself. that should be enough for me.

This would be great if it didn't require office. All that free space becomes very usable as a mapped drive....hopefully ms will figure that out...

If you have an MSDN Account, you can get an office 365 business account. And that comes with unlimited storage space.

I signed up for Office on my MSDN...
    Space didnt change. Still 240G.
How do you activate the extra space?

You have to register your account to be put on the list - it's a way for MS to prioritise those who actually want the extra space.
