New clutch questions

I recently got a new clutch in my 2006 cooper s, I had only owned the car for a few months when I decided to replace the slipping and numb clutch that was in it (previous single owner had done 95k kilometers on it)

I collected the car from its clutch change about a week and a half ago and it felt beautiful. Strong bite right at the bottom of the clutch. It's been a week and a bit (around 400 kilometers) and I've noticed the bite is not as strong as it was, and is about half way up on the pedal.

Just wondering of this is normal with a new clutch. Maby it takes a week to "break in" and thats the reason for the shift? Thanks a mill

Half way up the pedal travel is the correct bite point.

If I could jump onto this thread,I have an e12 corolla, and the bite point has always been near the top of the pedal travel, even after a new clutch was installed last October.

Can this be adjusted to the halfway point, or is it just as is

I've sometimes noticed clutches to be over sharp when newly installed, so it may be just bedding in.
