app idea?

Hi, I am a college student looking at making a phone app for a project. The app would provide a place for people to share routes and trails suitable for walking with pets, or just walking/running for fitness. I'm just curious if people would be interested in using such an app and if so are there are any features you would like to see included?

Should be an interest in it but would also add in cycling routes too.
In terms of features:
The ability to record your route as you travel it
Mark out car parking (possibly navigation to car park)
Ability to add notes to any point on the route
Overall comments for the route
If i think of anything else will post

Thanks swampy all very useful. Thanks Ludo but im trying to come at it from a different angle from those. My idea is that I can post a route that is good to run and then leave comments about it. For example a 5K near my house that i run all the time, it is mostly flat, stays away from major roads, is lit up at night early morn etc and do the same with dog walks, cycle route, hikes etc... give people a chance to share information on the routes and give people who use the app options in their area that they might not know about. I may be mistaken but i don't think map my run does that. It has admittedly been a while since i used it.
