Paul Smith & Eddie Hearn have talked there way into the rematch but it will not end well. I think we will see similar scorecards to the last time but they will actually match up to the action this time.

I am most looking forward to seeing Josh Warrington back in the ring. It is just stay busy fight as he is scheduled to fight for the WBC International title in April but it doesn't matter as Warrington is one of the wonderful fighters to watch.

I agree, I was delighted to see him included. Great to watch.

Paul Smith has weighed in 2.5lbs under the 168lb limit. That seems excessive & odd, Abraham was pretty much on the money.

Over cooked for this fight & think he will end up face down on the canvas!

Pretty uninspiring stuff from David Price against what is limited opposition.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 676 ✭✭✭Dietsquirt

Yea, Price looked very lethargic. I had high hopes for him on the back of some good wins. He hasn't been the same IMO since the 2 loses to Thompson. As Eddie Hearn just said, I don't think Joshua would have too much trouble dispatching Price.

Where can I see the fight card for this event?

Price looked like he was sparring. I dont know weather he was practising on certain things or he genuinely isnt the same from Thompson.

Very hard to know, you could give him the benefit of he doubt as he was 8 months out of the ring but he did look very tame.

Warrington has a lovly style and there's alot to like about him but i think his power is a glaring weakness.

Just wonderful hand speed and range of punches. I thought he looked to have added a little bit of power in his European title fight, will be interesting in his next fight. I'm just a huge fan of Warrington.

Always thought he was a lazy middleweight, no doubt ill be criticised for it, its his body shape etc....
He could make middleweight if he worked hard enough

Smith v Abraham for the world super middleweight title, good lord

Groves and degale must be gutted watching this. The 5th best super mid in england fighting for a smw title.

No commentary there for the 2nd round on Sky. Should do that more often. No waffle seems to make it more exciting. Good atmosphere

    2-1 Smith

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,758 ✭✭✭Strongbow10

Sky commentary team is down for the moment, first round coverage was great not having to listen to anyone, just watch the fight itself.

Ed and Macklin are voicing over the action now, don't bother lads we don't need to be told whats happening

Quite a good fight so far. Abraham not quite as slow to get going this time, but Smith boxing very sharply.

Against a fighter both of them would beat. Smith is domestic level at best

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

That was the best fighting so far (over the course of both fights). Another round like that from Abraham & you'd fear for Smith

No business fighting for a world title. How the hell does Abraham sell out arena's?

Abraham is finished but he will still have too much here even though he is blowing hard after 5 rounds already.

    Generally speaking hes finished.

Don't think hes looking fresh in this fight at all, hes not able to maintain a decent work rate at all, takes prolonged breaks during every round and then throws short flurries that catch the eye.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 931 ✭✭✭Chrissybhoy

I have it 4-3 to AA both fighting in bursts only difference is when AA let's go looks like he's really rocking Smith

they are taking it in turns to throw flurries, if Abraham could pour it on for every minute of every round he'd have finished this early, but he needs to recharge the batteries every time he throws a couple of punches.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

5-3 now to Abraham, hard to see how Smith can turn this around, when Abraham fancies it he is hurting Smith

Which is exactly how he's always fought.

He was never this bad in fairness, the deterioration is very evident but I suppose there is alot of mileage on the clock

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,758 ✭✭✭Strongbow10

Smith just cannot evade that right hand, and its slow and telegraphed. Joe Gallagher needs to have a word ffs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,465 ✭✭✭supersean1999

    Its over. smith is beat.

I actually think he's slightly better than normal tonight, but I stick to my point that this is the way he's always fought. He has never, ever fought for the full three minutes per round.

How is this Smith fella getting a world title shot? A game lad but **** is he a limited boxer.

of course he hasn't but the drop off is very notable. a fighter with a decent engine and some head movement will beat him 99/100. this wasn't always the case.

Hes 35 years of age though so I suppose its understandable

Pity Abraham didn't fight like this the 1st night, would have saved everyone the time. 7-3 Abraham

Was Smith a mandatory or a voluntary defence? smacks of being a handy voluntary gone somewhat wrong for Abraham but wouldn't surprise me if he was somehow mandatory the first time around.

"Paul Smith has shown he belongs at this level again"

Err no, he is getting wiped out at this level, fantastic guts & effort but doesn't have the skills or power to hang with the big boys.

Voluntary I think, no way was he ranked highly enough to be mandatory.

Degale beats Abraham handy enough, even Groves beats him by UD I reckon.

Smith is very limited, its an achievement to be a world title challenger

Rematch because an under prepared and past his best abraham struggled to beat him. And it was good money for a rematch.

Great effort from Smith but clear victory, I have it 8-4.

Thats how a good boxers fight. No point going flat out all fight when you can win it easy. He did all he had to do. Great courage and heart from Smith but completely out boxed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

Pretty much spot on with those cards

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,205 ✭✭✭Gringo180

Abraham did that literally in 1st gear.
