Irish and UK pipe and fittings compatability?

    I did a search before submitting this as thought it may have been asked already but could not find any previous threads. I need some clarification on the above please.

    I have a holiday home in Ireland and need to add some rads and system filter. I have loads of stuff already here in the UK from previous jobs but want to be sure of what I can and cannot use. My understanding so far is that Irish 1/2 inch and 3/4 copper will fit UK 15mm and 22mm pipe fittings and valves but not vice versa. Also I should make sure I use Irish Olive sizes if fitting say a UK 15mm rad valve to an Irish 1/2 inch pipe.

    It is my understanding I can use a UK grundfos Pump OK as that is BSP providing I get Irish pumps valves to fit the existing Irish 1 inch copper pipes.

    I have no idea about Irish 1 inch and UK 28mm though and I need to fit a system filter and would prefer to get one here as less cost.

    Yes you can do the above. It's a pain in the backside doing it but it's possible. Use hemp and uniwhite over the Irish olive if putting into an English fitting.
