Failed NCT, how much am I looking at for repairs?

    00 Toyota Corolla

    Failed on brake test, rear axle (imbalance 41%)
    Parking Brake (imbalance 53%)
    Dip Beam (one is slightly high)

    not too at all . If it passed on everything else, should be worth doing.

    It could be a very cheap fix. The rear brake tests are all pointing to either a worn brake shoe or simply needs adjusting or worse a brake cylinder.

    A dip beam adjustment is straight forward.

    €100 for the work including €20 for new brake shoes.

    But only an inspection will confirm if it also needs a brake cylinder (€20)

    Thanks everyone, I brought it to the mechanic and as mentioned above, he said " the handbrake and back brake problems may be connected. He'll take it in, drop the drum, have a look at the shoes to see if they simply need adjusting or if they need replacing. He'll adjust the dip beam, that's no big deal. Worst case scenario €100 - €110.

    So you guys were spot on, I appreciate that, thank you very much.
