Deductions no longer fit on my pay slip

    Deductions now are almost the same as net pay. See pay slip attached. Today, they've actually run out of space on my pay slip. Ha ha. Does anyone know what PREVIOUS YEAR PRD stands for? That's the new one.:rolleyes:

    PRD is the Pension Levy I imagine (Pension related deduction)

    Previous Years PRD is previous years pension related deduction (formally known as the pension levy)

    It means you underpaid PRD last year and are paying whatever you owe from last years PRD now.

    Check with payroll to see how much you owe and then you will know how long this deduction will be on your payslip for!

    The PRD isn't anything to do with a pension, it's an across the board extra tax on public service work. There is no pension associated with it.
    Payments towards pension are seperate.

    PRD applies even if you're not entitled to join pension scheme. It has nothing to do with pension. It's a tax.

    How many are still there is a more relevant question.

    Also the increment freeze, the pay cut of 1700 euro for s/s and the cut for so called high earners on 65k did come in under the current regime so I wouldn't be getting my knickers in a twist over ff v fg

    Yeah, i'ts handy, particularly since its doubled in recent years despite opting for a lower package. If I could add one more household bill (not water!!!) I'd actually have more deductions than net pay. The craziest thing of all is that net pay is less than local creche fees (an option we couldn't really afford)

    Never heard of it myself. Mine just has Income tax, PRSI and USC.
