Maternity leave finishing, options?

Hi all, I hope someone can help!

I am due to finish up maternity leave in a few weeks, before I fell pregnant i had informed my employer I was hoping to have a baby soon and that my current position would no longer be feasible for me. I work shifts that mean I would leave at 6am or get home at 1am and would be away from home 13hours a day. This would make childcare very difficult.
My employer is unable to adjust my hours or working conditions so I feel I'll have to leave my job but I have been unable to find another job yet, Lord knows I've been trying! Would I be entitled to jb?

My other option is to move in with my partner but he has casual work only and the weeks he does work he begins at 6am also which leaves us in the same boat for childcare. However if I was to hand in my notice, move in with him and continue to search for a suitable job what type of benefits would we receive if any?

Thanks so much for any advice you can give! This has been more stressful than the baby! My partner has suggested I go on illness benefit due to the stress of the job, the unpaid overtime, no lunch or bathroom breaks etc but I dont want to go down that route.

Maybe go and chat to citizens advice about the situation. They might be able to give you useful information about entitlements etc.
