    Hey, quick question, how much notice is needed to up Rent? Can it be done before the end of a years lease? If so how much notice is required?(is a phonecall sufficient?) Is LL taking the piss?

    It can be upped once in a 12 months period outside of or at the end of a lease. If your lease says the rent is 900 and the lease is until June then the rent cant be upped until then and only if there has been no change in 12 months. Think only 1 month notice is needed.

    Often an increase is given in writing but I would let them off, it only makes it a bit of a pain in the ass and it helps to make things easier if you can negotiate.

    can't
    technically no but I'd personally be fine with a phonecall
    if before lease end, yes
