taking up part time work

.. My Partner has been out of employment since 2008,
she has been on illness benefit (e188) and has attended several reviews before a panel.
After being out of work for 2 years she was made redundant as there was little hope of returning to the job she was doing

She thinks that this last review was in 2010 .
She had been told that she would have an exemption which allow her to take up a maximum of 19 hours per week without affecting her payment.
Until now her health did not allow her to take up work but after doing a childcare course she was delighted to take up the offer of 3 hours twice a week in the local school.
    (aprox e75 less any stoppages)

When she contacted SW today she was told that "these exemptions were done away with in 2011"....
So she is now in a difficult position.....
If she takes up the job offer an it doesn't work out she will be returned back to a payment which is means tested and risks the e188 payment being cut.
At present her claim dates back to before changes were made to the system
She is going to call in person to the welfare office, but does anyone have any suggestions on her situation ,she is very downhearted tonight as she thought she could at last get her working life back on track.
    Thanks in advance
