Back boiler

hey all , this is my first thread and am new enough to boards. I am getting a back boiler plumbed in by a person not quite qualified in the trade and have seen/had problem after problem. so my question is should the pump be close to the boiler or does it matter where it is , also is there anyway to find if there is enough water in the pipes and the pressure is sufficient enough for the back boiler ? any advice / help would be great

Get a plumber in.

You've some joe shmow in installing something potentially explosively your home, with so little faith in them that your asking random strangers in the internet how the job should be done.

Get a plumber and a good one at that. There are some definite rules about installing a boiler that absolutely need to be followed. If you think its worth the risk, just remember there's enough power in steam to drive a train.
