Android Updates

What manufacturers are the best at providing upgrades to the Android OS?
    I have a Huawei U9200 - bought September 2013 - I am stuck on Android 4.0.

Between that and non-removable batteries (my battery is degrading rapidly) - it's a great gimmick to force you into purchasing a new phone.

Motorola were good at upgrades when they were owned by Google, but that will change, I assume when the Lenova deal goes through.

It's a nuisance that you are depending on the manufacturer of Android phones for upgrades, rather than Google itself. Unlike Windows and Apple phones.

I would gladly switch to a Windows phone, only that the app selection is so small.

Forget about Huawei for OS upgrades. Are the others as bad?

get a nexus phone, you will get the latest updates before any other manufacturer, and a decent phone as well

htc said some of their phones would get lollipop after 90 days of the official release, its went over 90 days.
I guess it depends on how big the phone manufacturer is, and if they can afford to send updates pretty quick.
A quick look online will tell you how quick the manufacturers are at releasing the updates. cba sorry

Upgrading the Android os instantly isn't always the best solution. I had a few nexuses over the years and updates to the os usually leads to bugs, poor battery life and apps not working. I packed all that in, got an LG g2 with 4.4.2 and don't regret it. Everything works perfectly. Get a decent phone and don't worry about upgrades so much.
