Does anybody know if it's feasible to move my iTunes library from my MacBook Air's hard disk to a 64GB SD card that I can keep in the slot for access?

Photos and music taking up too much space on my internal 256GB SSD and the music seems to be the easiest to move.

Personally wouldn't do that. SD cards are not reliable and are prone to corruption. If you have your entire itunes library on a SD card and it got corrupted all your music, photos and device backups might be lost.

A USB drive would be more reliable than a SD card, its relatively easy to migrate your itunes library:

    Drat.

I wanted to use the SD card because it would be more ergonomic, as in, it wouldn't stick out as much as a USB stick.

Of course I would back my iTunes library up to an external hard disk before removing it from the internal hard disk...

If you've a network drive you can use that, or if you've an AirPort Extreme you can hook up a drive to that.

On the contrary I have moved my music to a 128GB microSD card in the SD slot of my macbook pro using a Nifty drive adapter so its sits flush to the computer chassis.

I have had zero problems in a bout a year. The card mounts flawlessly on every boot and sits there until I need it. The only thing is obviously the card is not as fast as my hard drive but other than that no problems. Obviously I take precautions to backup my music to a portable drive...

That's good to hear. Can you give me some details on the adapter?

    It's this one:

Be careful though!! They come in different sizes depending on the type of Mac. Make sure you get the right one.
