Capture Card Microphone Issue

    Ok so I bought my son an Elgato Capture Card last week for his ps4 and xboxOne.
    It works a treat except for the fact that you cannot hear any sounds from the microphone on his Turtle Beach even when we press the commentary button etc.
    I know I will need to buy a microphone of some sort but I'm not sure what I need to get specifically.
    Is it a microphone to plug into ps4/computer or CC...?


    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Important question to decide that: Does he want to record commentary during play or after?
