    Hi Guys,

    Looking for a little info.

Hopefully going to buy a 2010 Diesel Grand scenic with 66,000 miles on the clock.

Trying to find out when the belt needs changing online but cant find it.

    Anyone here know?

    Thanks

    Renault Belgard’s advice:

In order to optimise the life span of your engine, we recommend that you:

Follow the maintenance programme for your vehicle.
Preventively change your timing and accessories belt between 60,000 and 160,000 km or every 4 to 5 years, even if the mileage has not been reached.

I would do a car history check on the car pre purchase to see that the mileage is genuine.

Think it is 5 years or 70K, so factor in a change. I wouldn't hold off as they have been know to let go before due dates.

    Thanks for that guys.

And how much would It likely cosy with a independant mechanic?

    Thanks

Use it as a bargaining chip with the seller.

    ^ +1

€600 through Renault, maybe €400 with an Indy, best to phone one.

yeah would be planning on using as a bargaining chip.

Just wanted to know how big a chip i had:D

Very pricy to do timing belts on them compared to some other cars though

The interval is 150,000km or 6 years, whichever comes first. So it will be due next year either way.

€350 should cover it in an independent garage.
