Hi, looking to hopefully get a new build off the ground and was applying for a water connection. Planning given based on letter from local group scheme, however nearest mains I believe is some distance (3-4km from site). In the application to the council on Irish waters behalf they ask for a map showing the water mains in relation to the house, anyone know where you would get a map showing this level of detail?

Your local council should provide this free of charge. I've gotten many from Dublin City Council over the years. The maps provide flow, invert and cover levels of each manhole also.

    What LA are you in?

as this is a group scheme, its probably unlikely it has been mapped.

The person to go to to find this out would be the secretary of the group scheme. S/he would have all the documentation, and generally would know off the top of their head if it was mapped.

id be highly highly surprised if it was though.

How are you planning on getting a pipe across 3 or 4 km!! its a long way across a lot of land? The group water scheme shouldn't give you a letter if they cannot connect you. Are there smaller connections nearby? I hope for your sake there are. Some schemes have good maps particurarly if they have upgraded in the last few years older one will not have much to give you.

As well as the map of the mains, do they also provide maps of drains along the roadside?
