    Hello,

My name's Alan. I'm from Mayo but I've been living in Clermont-Ferrand, France for the last 2 years. I have been playing with the local Gaelic Football team here; the Clermont Gaels and I recently decided to start documenting my experiences playing GAA in France. I have set up a blog and I would really appreciate it if you could check it out and let me know what you think and if you could tell some friends about it that would be even better!

You can find my blog at the following address:

I also have a facebook page where you can find links to all my posts and updates when I'm at tournaments in France and other countries:

Thanks Alan quite a good standard in France. Teams of all French getting results over all Irish regular enough.

Indeed. A lot of the other French clubs still have a big Irish contingent involved at coaching and playing level but the newer and Brittany based clubs are much more French dominated. On my own team I was the only Irish person involved until very recently until another Irish player started making a roughly 3 hour round trip to come to trainings during the week! Our club is coached and run completely by French people and that's great to see in my eyes. I would say that our side is one of the most indigenous sides on the continent and we have completely dominated some sides that were 100% Irish, especially at the last European Championships in Maastricht.
