Parking at Brides Glen/Cherrywood LUAS

Does anyone know whether there is parking at either of these two luas stops at 8am Mon-Fri? I know that neither of them are designated park+ride stops but was wondering if there is any parking available at all. I'm happy to pay, if there is a privately owned car park I could use.

I know that there is a car park on rough ground at covidien (operated by apcoa perhaps?) and am wondering if there tend to be spaces available or if it is even open to the paying public.

I also know that there are spaces at tullyvale on the road beside cherrywood luas stop but do these spaces tend to fill up with commuters who leave earlier than 8am?

I know that there is an official park and ride at Carrickmines but I'm looking to board the luas earlier than that.

I thought they'd put in pay parking with a 3 hour limit at Cherrywood.

As far as I'm aware there isn't. One of the great examples of really poor planning, putting the park and ride the wrong side of the M50/ M11 merge for everyone heading up the N11...

Whats stopping you from parking somewhere in the industrial estate at Brides Glen?

That's what I was wondering. There is definitely an open air car park on rough ground adjacent to covidien, Ben Dunne gym etc. and I'm wondering if I can pay to use it or if it is reserved for business park employees....

You need a parking permit issued by a company there, otherwise you could get clamped.

The park and ride is only two stops along the line and is €5 per day, why not use that?

Thanks - that's exactly what I wanted to know. Seems crazy that there are no parking facilities at either stop given the amount of (as yet) undeveloped land and the capex spent on extending the luas line as far as brides glen.

As for carrickmines - yes I probably will do that and it am aware of it, but it is not ideal as the journey time by car to carrickmines will take longer in rush hour than the luas journey between brides glen and carrickmines.

    Thanks for responding

it should only take five minutes, even at height of rush hour.

There is limited on street parking at the cherrywood stop. It might be worth searching the south county Dublin board, there was a thread on there a while back.

Thanks Fred - I thought that it would take longer to drive to carrickmines at that time. I'll have a look at the other thread on SCD
