Hi, I have an interview for a job on Thursday. I just noticed that the hours are 8.30 to 17.00 with 30 mins break. Is this break ok. I've only ever worked in places where it was an hour break

Working time act section 12.

After 4 hours 30 minutes you must get a break of at least 15 minutes.
After 6 hours in total you must get another break giving you a total break time of at least 30 minutes.

So a 30 minute lunch break is legal.

Yes it's perfectly legal and better IMO, then you finish earlier in the evening.

0830 to 1 pm is 4 hours 30 min.

Lunch from 1 pm to 130 pm.

130 pm to 5 pm is 4 hours 30 min.

All within section 12 limits.
