Engineering Degree Q

I just want to ask about the engineering degree options available in various universities, mainly UCD, TCD and NUIG.

I am aware they provide a 3yr BSc + 2yr ME, or a 4yr BE, but i was wondering is there any way to do the 4 years for the BE and then move on to complete 1yr of Masters, or do i have to specifically follow the path they have set up?

For example if i was to go on to study mechanical engineering in UCd for 4 years for a BE, would i be able to graduate into a 1 year ME course for that and get my Masters that way?

    Thank you.
