Horrific Incident on Pearse Street

I was cycling down Macken Street around quarter to five today and heard what sounded like a car crash on the crossroads by Pearse Street.

There was a taxi stopped and a women lying on the footpath not moving. Does anyone who was around that area at that time know exactly what happened? I stopped and went over but she was surrounded by a big crowd so thought it best not to add to it.

I hope to god the poor girl is okay as the going by the noise it was a big impact.
