Should I buy a 2DS?

So as the title suggests I am considering picking up the 2ds. I would never use the 3d option on the 3ds so it just seems logical. It has been a long long time since I picked up any Nintendo handheld console so I'm looking for game recommendations, best places to buy, tips and tricks for the 2ds and everything else I need to know. Currently looking at some on Adverts or the Super Mario Bros 2 Bundle in argos for €138.99.

I'll without doubt be playing the new Pokemon (guilty pleasure) and some Mario games. Apart from that I am open to suggestions.

    Thanks all.

I'd go for the New 3DS instead if I were you, you can turn the 3D off if you don't like it, but the new one has more memory and faster processor, along with better 3D effect. Not to mention it's infinitely more portable than the 2DS and more comfortable to hold.

Is there any bundles at the moment with the new 3ds? Price is a big part of me looking at the 2ds over the others. But if the difference is that great I might hold out a little longer and invest in the 3ds if I can get a good bundle deal. Thanks for the reply.

The 2DS is fine but it is not terribly comforted for adult hands to hold over time.
My son has one and hardly plays it tbh.
Thinking if picking him up a cheap 3DS along the way instead, pop the 2DS into the Nintendo console archive in my games room/attic where it gathers dust.

2DS are nice, very fragile though and a dust magnet, if you do go for one get either the blue or red Pokemon editions, see through just like the Ruby and Sapphire gba carts from way back when.

They are slightly on the small size too and have been causing me cramp issues but only on Majora's Mask, I bought my Omega Ruby editon(the red one) in CeX for €110 a few weeks back so keep an eye on their site ie.webuy.com as more may pop up.
