Wanted to buy monster hunter 4 and majora, problem is the local xtravision stopped selling nintendo products. I pre-ordered off of WOW HD but they put me on a backorder and I wouldn't get the game for 3 weeks. So I wanted to know wheres the most reliable and cheapest places to buy 3ds games in Ireland

Amazon France have great prices on both - €35ish although delivery pushes it up. But there's literally a song and dance (well, not dance, but I'm hopeful Ciderman has something up his sleeve) going on in another thread about their delivery.

Argos are also pretty decent on price for many 3ds/wiiu games, for a bricks and mortar place in Ireland.

Argos by far, they seem to do a 2 free games deal, which you can always trade in, none of the bricks and mortar places offer a particularly good deal.

That deal would only be with the console. Smyths actually seem to have the best prices on the new releases.

€44.99 each for either Majora's Mask or Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.

Exactly, worst part is nintendo rarely go down in price or go on sale.

If it were a cut down experience, yes. When almost the same level of work has to be put into them, and they offer similar standard of gameplay as consoles, it's really not.

    I couldn't agree more.
The days of major franchises turning up on handhelds in some sort of cut down effort are behind us.
Both Majora's Mask 3D and Monster Hunter 4 are worthy of a home console release.
So many other 3DS games are fully featured experiences, like Mario Kart 7 or Super Mario 3D Land, Zelda Link between worlds and Animal Crossing New Leaf.
All well worth €45 and all with a damn sight more content than many home console games.

It's all about value for money, you pay 10 for a poor game you waste your cash, spend 45 on something brilliant and it's worth every penny.

I think with cheap and free to play games on mobiles, people are now thinking that anything over €10 is ridiculously expensive

People also don't see that, generally, phone based games are shallow click bait affairs.
There are exceptions, Monument Valley for example, but they certainly don't normally compare to the typical 3ds offering.
But that really just shows the ignorance of the person who thinks that Angry Birds and Monster Hunter 4 are somehow equivalent.
    They don't know any better.

For me Nintendo are currently the last bastion for reliable gaming. No oversized day one patches, no broken features or controversy.

Well worth the price of admission.

I got amiibo stuff off them over Christmas and they were delivered within a few days after Christmas. Considering the time of year, it was very fast.
It was just normal shipping, none of that fancy phants, European Town Tour shipping that the other posters opted for.

I'll happily pay the nintendo premium to get good quality, patchless, install-less games.
