I got snowed in in Dunedin once.

also - Dunedin is actually the Anglicised version of Dùn Èideann, which is the Scottish Gaelic name for Edinburgh.

    Co-incidence?

    Probably.

Scotland in good form in the warm ups, but NZ are a class apart. Hard to see any thing other than a comfortable NZ win to be honest

Northants (I had it in my head he'd been released but maybe I'm wrong, he wasn't the worst last season) Kyle Coetzer looked in good shape for Scotland in their warm up games, hopefully that will continue, but I think New Zealand will win it fairly easily.

Nz win the toss and will bowl. Can't see myself staying up for this one tonight.....

Mightn't need to stay up too long. Boult making it talk.

    This is a skittlin

This could be all over before the highlights of the Ireland game are.

How many times has a bowler been on a hat-trick in the tournament so far?

Swing bowling at its best here.

    Poor Scotland......

Have got back to 71/4. Safe to say they'll be the first team who won't break the 300 run mark but hopefully can put up a respectable score.

    Scotland all out for 142.
Rough introduction to World Cup 2015 for the Scots.

    142 all out

Thought they would have been a bit better

Not many teams would have done well against that opening spell. It was awesome stuff from Southee and Boult particularly.

Almost unplayable. Kind of wasted on Scotland. NZ would prefer if it was Warner and Finch facing that instead.

62/2 at the break, but 145/7 in the end. A few wickets thrown away

That's excellent work by Scotland, NZ won technically, but IMO Scotland won it considering where NZ is in rankings and experience.

I would imagine real concern would be in English team. Are they going to gey their ass handed to them by Ireland AND Scotland in years to come? :P

Scotland did well to make it relatively close. If Machan had of batted a bit longer they could have posted a relatively competitive total. Their seamers did well too. I know NZ were chasing NRR but only a few of the wickets they lost were to wild shots. Scotland found lots of edges. Glad they weren't embarrassed.

Spirited effort but they were well beaten. It was never really a contest after been bundled out so cheaply. They'll be disappointed to lose seven wickets but it was clear they wanted to knock those runs off in 20 overs. Hit out more than got out. Job done.

    Pretty much.

No shame in it really for Scotland, a lot of sides will get hammered by New Zealand. Mc Cullum needs to tighten up a bit though, all well and good been aggressive but he needs to stop giving it away.

Them v England next should be good fun.

McCullum should just pretend it's a red ball.

Should be a cracker. Tricky weekend for England with Scotland a few days later. I fancy them to turn NZ over though.

The bookies disagree with you and I disagree with them.:P

NZ should be favs, but England aren't awful and their bowling will be a real test, huge step up than dealing with Lanka whose quick bowling is "lacking".

Brendon just needs to rein himself in a little, Finn, Woakes and Anderson he will have to actually show some respect for. :p

Machan, Coetzer and the other county boys who plays for Scotland will be really up for that England game and of course a great chance for Collingwood who is involved with their coaching to make the ECB boys pay attention to him, England will probably win, but it could get messy if they are not on their game

Well Dominic Cork did half facetiously say Matt Machan will be on England's radar now so he'll be out to impress again.
