Irish pennies

    Hi all,
I am looking for some help!
We are getting married in 2016 and I really would love to get my hands on some Irish pennies. Not the really old ones but ones that were in circulation just before the euro and in. We want to use them for favours to give our guests. You know "lucky pennies". Lucky cents just doesn't have the same ring to it! Lol
I would love if anyone could point me in the right direction. I see them on eBay but they are costing big money and we need 300 of them. We thought that if people had any we could have we would give a donation to the Irish Cancer Society. So any info would be great!

    Thanks

I suspect that eBay will be your best bet. This Irish seller seems to have a number of bulk lots for sale.

    Seb_bixby,

If you're in Dublin, just looking for ordinary circulated decimal pennies (i.e. not of collectible quality) and are not in a huge rush for them I could probably supply them. I have a mound of decimal coins I haven't got around to sorting yet. There's probably at least a couple of hundred pennies amongst them. You're welcome to whatever I'm not interested in.

Just so you understand, these won't be of the shiny new variety, in the majority of cases they'll be quite manky.

This would be amazing Leopoldlll. I'm in no rush for them at all. Would you like to pm me about this?
