Minecraft in forge mode

All,
Please help me. My child want to use mods in minecraft and i am trying to download them, which i think i have done successfully. But when i try to run in forge mode i get the following error message:

Not sure about that error but I know that for Forge versions earlier than 1.7.10 they do not work with the latest version of Java without editing the jar file.

Learned from having to do the same thing for my kids. I'd happily pay for a decent mod manager to be made by Mojang, the current system reminds me far too much of what it was like gaming in DOS. :P

Same have to use the latest version.

Kids use craftbukkit for their servers which is sort of handy to use.
