Hi I've just noticed recently (the last week) that the area under my eye has just started to twitch/spasm, its like a small tic, I'm worried that this could possibly lead to a stroke
Should I go see a GP about this?

No! Don't go to a doctor, instead get a part in a spaghetti western as a baddie....

Cut down on the caffine and sugar. Ease off on the stress. If you still have it then go see the Doc.

    These tics are pretty common.

**Please note that Triggers medical advice should not be taken as a replacement for common sense!**

I used to get those twitches. I stopped drinking coffee and switched to tea. Problem solved.

It will stop by itself. Don't be poking it.

Why bother consult a doctor or even some sort of medical aid website when you can just consult AH.

Become a crap football manager of many years experience doing naff all yet spend oodles and oodles of someone else's money, skiving off a percentage each time, all the while seemingly unable to grasp how to use a mobile phone, before chickening out as relegation/sacking/lack of opportunity to skive more money on transfer deals looks all but inevitable, yet at the same time booking an appearance on a football show sometime after the season ends so you can tell everyone how you'd have kept the team up if you were still there.

Turn down the brightness on your pc . That's your problem.
Wear shades while on pc for a while, and keep brightness down.
It's strange that we sit 2 foot from pc, but if we done same with tv people would think it's crazy.

Almost everybody I know has had this at one time or another - in fact I have on friend who gets visible twitches all over his body almost all the time. The eye twitch is the most common - if it is indicative of a stoke then expect AE wards to fill up with thousands of people imminently.

It's just a nerve misfiring, nothing to worry about. Try to get more sleep to prevent them happening. In the meantime, hold an ice cube to the area for about a minute and it should stop the twitching.

I had an eye twitch that lasted two weeks. Didn't want to look at anyone in case they thought I was winking at them :(. Think twitches are possibly linked to stress.

Go to a GP if you are concerned, no one can help you here.

    Mod.
