    Hi,

This issue is best explained by the photo attached.... In short, I need to obtain the piece of plastic covering the led (the led itself is fine). Failing this the entire wing mirror would need to be replaced as the wing mirror was glued before I purchased the car and cannot be taken apart (want to avoid like the plague). Any advice and assistance would be appreciated.

Edit> the part is for a VW Golf Mk5.

What car is it? Have you tried the scrap yard?

Sorry MK5 VW Golf (1.4 basic model; 2004). No haven't tried yet; said I'd enquire here first.

Main dealer is youre best bet if its available on its own.

A scrap yard wont break up a mirror to sell you that bit on its own would leave the mirror worthless.

I think they will only sell the full unit lense. That being said I think the only option I have... I'm thinking of then taking a hacksaw to it and cutting off the bit I need. Not so sure how glueing would go but it's worth a try.

Yep you're right but I can't take the wing mirror apart as it has been already glued.

You only need the indicator cover, its only a couple of euro to buy off vw themselves.
