Why would the RTE News app leave these processes running on my Samsung S5 even though the app is closed? I have notifications for the app turned off as well :S

(You will need to copy and paste the URL into your browser as Boards is not letting me post it as I am a "new user" registered since 2007.)

Forget about the app, just open the mobile site in your browser, it's better

BTW, you dont need to close apps on Android, when the app is minimised it's not using any resources. Android isn't like Windows, when you're finished with most apps you can just press the home button to minimise them. You can also use multitasking to quickly open apps again, when they minimise their state is saved so they open again quickly

Loads complained about the app since the new update, best to use a browser as said.
also you need 50 posts to post links, you might be here years but you only had 19 posts at my time of posting

The app does run in the background when minimised, and its a hog for draining battery.

Yeah, that's why I said "most apps" It's probably a poor iOS port and not built for Android

Yeah, there's a problem with the app in that it leaves some keep awake processes running so never lets you phone sleep.
