    hi im currently getting jsa and have been put forward by intreo officer for a local ce scheme. but i was onto citizens info and according to their calculations ill loose e22.90 per week with prsi and e18.08 with paye as i claim for kids and partner so im on a higher rate.

    i cant get any tax relief cos we are cohabiting. so im down alot of money per week.
    can i refuse to do the ce scheme on the grounds of loosing so much per week. barely keeping the wolves from the door as is. i know my payment can be cut.

    ive also been put down for local jobsclub, and a ECDL course, that doesnt start til april. so if i am cut til start of the course would my payment return to what it should be?

    advice please would be great, im caught between a rock and hard place

    Could your partner claim separately for his share of social welfare benefits ? Maybe even for the kids allowance too. That would down bring the tax you would pay on the CE scheme and probably mean you wouldn't pay PRSI either
