Just picked one up this morning when getting the roses and chockies for herself!

It has a CMOS Sensor of 5 megapixels and works with Windows only( XP SP2, Visa, 7 or 8)

It does 35 mm negatives or 50mm by 50 mm slides

Image resolution is 1,800 dpi, (3,600 interpolated)

Before I open it just wonder what all the above means in terms of getting decent quality images scanned.
    Thanks.

It really depends on your expectations.

If you're just using it to scan in old negs, to archive them, then its OK.

It'll not be a patch on a decent DSLR's capability though.

Thanks for both replies. As am currently reading Charles Dickens, I returned the item, unopened this morning.

Borrowed a similar one and dust had found its way inside it. Couldn't see any way of cleaning it.
