    Hi guys,

My friend has a laptop that just keeps going into startup repair. The Recovery Management tool won't work and when I click on Startup Recovery it only gives me the two options above.

It doesn't display the command prompt which while researching this is something needed.

Any help, advice solution is greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Aaron

If you have a disc in the optical drive then take it out.

You mentioned the command prompt - if this is needed to apply a fix then chose the "Safe mode with command prompt" option from the windows boot menu. (Boot menu is usually gotten to by hitting F8 repeatedly when starting computer).
