Amazon Couriers

I use amazon a fair bit buying things online. They provide a good service generally, customer service are very good and prompt, buying items is painless and done with one click, they also have good deals.

One thing though that consistently lets them down is the courier service. Every single time there are problems due to incompetent couriers. Twice I've legged it down the stairs after a doorbell ring only to find they've driven off. They fail to leave a delivery card, sometimes don't bother ringing the doorbell or call my phone. I'm really surprised amazon haven't done something about this, because this is the only flaw in the service. Anyone else experience this?

An post always delivers my Amazon packages. Either through the local postie or if it's a larger package one of their little delivery vans.

I live in london, so presumably as usual in this capitalist utopia, it was probably farmed out to the lowest common denominator

Amazon in conjunction with Parcel Motel has made it ridiculously easy for me to fill my life with material wealth that i "kinda need".

I'm not the only person that thought of this when they seen the thread title?

An post don't deliver to me. I've sat there with the front door open (note on it saying "please ring", waiting for a delivery and heard the post van. I run to the door and there is a little slip of paper telling me they couldn't deliver.

They really just don't bother anymore

I'm no businessman, but jesus christ why can't companies understand if they're gonna farm out work to third parties they need to have good standards. Its just short sighted business thinking.

How exactly is the performance of couriers in London in any way relevant on an Irish discussion forum?
