Think New Zealand and Sri Lanka should put on a good game, fancy the Kiwis to win that one.

Other game I suspect the Aussies will hammer England, but I hope I'm wrong on that one.

Really hard to see past both the hosts in these.

Aus & NZ to win, although I want both SL and England to do really well and start of the tournament with some upsets. I think SL can actually do it if they put their mind to it, not so sure about England - winning against Aussies in Australia is not easy.

If there are no miracles, Australia is just going to walk away with this World Cup.

Absolutely spilling down judging by that interview. Game not on for 7 hrs or so but not looking great. The old D/L calculators will be out. Freezing cold and overcast in Christchurch. So much for the down under summer

    These on-screen graphics are horrendous

23 off the 8th (malinga) over for McCullum

Malinga is fat again, very rusty from Lanka, but plenty of games to shake it off.

McCullum first wicket, but smashing knock

Sri Lanka making good fist of this run chase so far. 112 for 1 in 20th over chasing 332 to win.

Australia got off to a flyer batting first against England, Woakes put one down first over.

Was just about to slag off Broad for chucking several pies........

    New Zealand comfortable winners then.

England getting smashed all round the park by Finch and Bailey now, huge score beckons.

    Big last 5 overs now

    Hat trick to finish!

Not many teams get to 342 from 70 for 3 with your two best batsmen gone....

Australia looking formidable and the team to beat.......their batting depth looks scary and Faulkner was not even playing

Hope England give it a real go and make a fist of this run chase

Think England's performance has made them look better than they are, abysmal bowling in general and batting not much to write home about. (to be fair though they are an excellent side)

I blame that bloody blackmailer :pac::pac: ..... Morgs has not made a run in about 5 innings since that story broke

Can't understand Ballance at 3 and Taylor at 6 .....both look unlikely to get the ball off the square let alone over the boundary

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,384 ✭✭✭booth70

Disappointing finish to both matches - both the losers lost the moment they went on the defensive and put the opposition in on two flat belters

SL messed up a good start and Eng were never in it at any stage

Hopefully tomoro's matches will be a bit more competitive

    My humble apologies to Mr.Taylor:pac::pac:

    Come on England

^^^ lol. 76!! I hope he gets to 100 (unlikely).

Bizarre finish. Surprised the run out stands tbh. Unlucky Taylor.

    Very straightforward win though.

Easiest even money shot this weekend I'd say

Not sure they can keep Watson once Clarke is back as his form is gash and it would be very harsh to drop the likes of Marsh, Maxwell and even Bailey for him.

Clarke for Watson. Best player in at 3. Bailey must play. He can rebuild an innings like he did today and he can be as destructive as anyone around.
