Every supermarket and butcher seem to be advertising Steak for valentines day.

As a bloke, I genuinely cannot get my head around what type of person would serve steak to their valentine. it's possibly the most unthoughtful, unromantic meal you could possibly concoct!

is this a thing to cook steak on valentines day?

I thought there was a steak and blowjobs day on March 14th? Kind of hard for Supervalu to market for that though I suppose

People who want to make money pushing things that'll make them money at a time where people are looking to spend money?

Can't see the logic at all.

    you're doing it wrong ...

there should be a nice romantic fire on, nice bottle of wine, and it should be served up to you at precisely 5.45.

Finished by 5.54, just in time for the start of the second half.

The thing to cook is whatever pleases them most. I would cook whatever he liked best.

So a bloke goes and buys chocolates ,wine, and flowers for his other half to pretend that he's romantic -
In return the other half cooks him a steak dinner to pretend she's appreciative - everyone's a winner - (wether there are bjs or not)

There's a kind of running joke, in America mainly I think, of lads calling Valentines day Steak and blowjob day. The steak (and blowjob) is meant for the guy. So the guy get's those, and the girl gets, I dunno, kittens and chocolate and pink things. I think the idea is maybe the girl buys the steak for the guy and cooks it for him as his treat, and he cooks her a plate of kittens and serves them with a side of chocolate and pink, or maybe pink chocolate, like those little pink mouse chocolates you get in the cinema? Although if for a guy a blowjob is such a rare big treat that needs it's own once a year day he may want to take his little pink chocolate kittens elsewhere, I'd have thought.

I'm pretty sure somewhere in there is something close to an answer to something.

The quality of beef tends to be excellent in Ireland. Our favourite deli/butcher here in Frankfurt sell Irish rib-eyes that have been dry-aged for 42 days. They are a premium product with a premium price-tag. Our German friends almost unanimously agree that it is the finest steak they have tried. As with any rib-eye it's best served closer to medium than rare to allow the fat to render correctly.

The Germans are also fans of Irish butter and cheese. We do dairy very well.

I'm a girl. Would much prefer steak than the above personally. Most of my female friends would be the same. It's all about personal preference really though!
