Nissan Scrappage Scheme

I currently drive a 06 Leon tdi , worth around 3 - 4 k. Does the scrappage scheme allow me 4k on top of the trade in value of my car or 4k in total? Is this an excuse for dealers to give rubbish trade in values on trade ins due to the 4k buffer

Also, my parents drive a fresh car but want to change. Is their anything for me to change my car to a new nissan, but then once purchased change the log book into my parents name? I know they would be the second owner but I'm sure can live with that given the 4k scheme.

    Cheers.

4k plus the trade value of the car. At their discretion as to what that value is.

Trade value means what they actually want to buy the car in for.

    Example (makey uppey figures)

You see a new ford focus for sale for €25,000. Garage buys it from Ford for €21,000
You go in and want to buy it straight. They offer it to you for €23,000, you get €2k off, they make €2k, everyone's happy.

Your mate goes in with his 05 Focus. They give him €3k for it. He's delighted and hands over €22,000 and his car.

What actually happened there is they discounted the used car buy in value to €1000 and sold the new focus out at €23,000 (what they offered it to you for)

Now, you're thinking, they bought that in fierce cheap. Not really, they'll either sell it off in the traðe for roughly that money, or spend money on it, advertise it, warranty it etc and sell it again.

Same principle applies with nissan. Its 4k on top of a trade price. Trade in price offered elsewhere would always contain a wedge of discount anyway.
    You won't get 4k extra.
