    Hi everyone,

So, I'm 22, will be 23 in a couple of months and I currently live away from home in private rented accommodation. I don't and never have received any type of rent supplement or rent allowance.
I work part-time and get a part-time social welfare payment too on the X and O docket system. I've been working part-time here since May 2014.
Lately, I haven't been getting much work so I'm being forced to move home until I go back to college in September.
My parents and my nanny all live in one house, which my nanny is the owner of, who obviously receives a pension.
My dad is on carer's allowance for my mam and my mam is on disability allowance for her long term illness. Does anyone know if me moving home will affect my payment? My parents don't support me financially in any way. And when I do move home, how will the process take place for change of address etc?? Will they need a proof of address in the form of bills etc if I'm not renting the house??

    Thanks in advance!

You'll be means assessed if you are on JA, but the rest of your families payments are not assessable iirc, so you should be fine.

I'm already means assessed as it is, i get 19 euro taken away from me for every day i work, up to 3 days in a week. After that i get no payment.
Will i be assessed differently now I'm living at home?! I'm not entirely sure what you mean.

There are a number of different sources of means that can be assessed against you, the 19e per day worked are earnings means, but say if you had capital or savings or your partner or parents had earnings they could be assessed against you too.

However the other family members you will be living with are on other payments which I'm fairly sure are not assessable, ie, the means from parental income in your case would be nil, so your payment should be unaffected.

I see what you mean. I should be ok in that case. Thank you so much for clarifying, much appreciated :)
