    There is not many people on here who will understand what that final whistle meant to us. But your short story summed up in words what it meant to US. So yeah stick it back up.

    I entered it into a short story competition and one of the rules is that submissions can't be posted on public websites, which is why it took it down. It says personal blogs are allowed though, so I've put it up here - http://carlopopplewell.blogspot.ie/2015/02/the-cup.html

    Happy to hear it went down well on the Saints Forum, although I don't have access to view that link. I'm not a Saints fan or really a big follower of the league (I'm actually the 'posh c**t blow-in' in the story :)), but I do have an appreciation for how much more football means to those who trudge around the country every week following their team.
