Hi looking to see if anyone knows the steps to be taken here.

My wifes passport expired a year ago. We don't travel outside onof Ireland on holidays. My wife got her expiry date mixed up. We sent her passport to Mauritius embassy in London, they wont renew her passport until we get a lettet from Ireland GNIB outlining her status in Ireland. GNIB wont issue this without a passport. GNIB card expired while waiting for passport issue to be resolved.

GNIB have asked us today to contact Dept Justice. We havent yet. Doing this tomorrow.

My wife is living in Ireland 10years. First 2.5 as student, 7.5 on stamp four through marriage. We have 3 sons together, all with irish passports, I'm Irish, born here to Irish parents. We were working on applying for citizenship when we realised the passport dates were out.

My question is, what can we really do in tjos situation. I thought something similar may have happened before. But GNIB didn't think so and I've seen no procees for this problem on Justice website.

What we thought would be a formality of getting her Irish citizenship (before we realised pp was out of date) s now causing my wife alot of stress, particularly here status here as she thinks she will be deported. We know the passport out of date is all on us and is causing the stress. We just wanna know how we rectify the situation.

Mauritian embassy in London will make no more comments untill we get status in Ireland confirmed.
